Following India’s historic triumph at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, several players from the side have been rewarded in the latest International Cricket Council T20I rankings released on Wednesday, with two Indian batters occupying the top spots.

India opener Abhishek Sharma retained his No.1 position in the T20I batting rankings after his quickfire half-century against New Zealand in the World Cup final. Fellow opener Ishan Kishan climbed two places to second following his impressive tournament, where he scored 317 runs.

Kishan achieved a new career-high rating and now trails Abhishek by just four rating points. India’s Sanju Samson also made significant gains, jumping 18 places to 22nd, while Shivam Dube moved up four spots to 27th after strong performances during the tournament.

Among other notable movers, Tim Seifert of New Zealand climbed four places to sixth, while England’s Jacob Bethell surged 17 positions to 16th, both reaching career-best rankings after impressive displays at the World Cup.

New Zealand opener Finn Allen, who set the record for the fastest century in a men’s T20 World Cup with a 33-ball ton against South Africa in the semi-finals, also moved up seven spots to 20th.

There was a change at the top of the T20I bowling rankings. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan reclaimed the no. 1 spot, replacing India’s Varun Chakravarthy, who slipped to second following the conclusion of the tournament.

England leg-spinner Adil Rashid moved up one place to fourth, while India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah sits sixth. All-rounder Axar Patel also made progress, climbing six places to 17th after solid performances during the World Cup.

In the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza retained the top spot with a new career-high rating, while India’s Hardik Pandya sits second, also achieving a career-best rating.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner jumped three places to ninth in the all-rounders’ list, while England’s Will Jacks climbed five spots to 13th following his strong showing at the tournament.
